Nature is full of diversity, wood is full of diversity. I aim to work with all forms (round wood turned, cleft and sawn) and all species of wood. Working in woodlands gives me access to 'raw' wood and I try and use this as much as possible, working with the pieces from the log to the finished product. I use both traditional and modern tools and techniques, aiming for simplicity and natural lines - often incorporating the natural edge of the timber.I restrict myself exclusively to home grown and reclaimed timber, the majority of which comes from within a 15 mile radius of Stroud, where I live and work.

I work with wood and woodlands as a coppice worker, woodland manager, wood turner and furniture maker. My long term interest in environmental matters led into conservation work and woodland work. Working in woodlands led inevitably onto an interest in wood and woodland crafts and a desire to make full use of this unique and beautiful material.
